Microscopic calculation of symmetry projected nuclear level densities
نویسنده
چکیده
We present a quantum Monte Carlo method with exact projection on parity and angular momentum that is free of sign-problems for seniority-conserving nuclear interactions. This technique allows a microscopic calculation of angular momentum and parity projected nuclear level densities. We present results for the 55Fe, 56Fe and 57Fe isotopes. Signatures of the pairing phase transition are observed in the angular momentum distribution of the nuclear level density.

STUDY OF NUCLEAR LEVEL DENSITY AND SPIN CUT-OFF FACTORS
Nuclear level densities and spin cut-off factors have been deduced for nuclei in the mass region 24‹A‹63,from a microscopic theory, which includes nuclear pairing interaction. Single particle levels for both Seeger and Nilsson potentials were used in the calcdations. Level densities extracted from the theory are compared with their conesponding experimental values, It is found that the overall...
متن کاملMicroscopic Nuclear Level Densities from Fe to Ge by the Shell Model Monte Carlo Method
We calculate microscopically total and parity-projected level densities for β-stable even-even nuclei between Fe and Ge, using the shell model Monte Carlo methods in the complete (pf +0g9/2)-shell. A single-particle level density parameter a and backshift parameter ∆ are extracted by fitting the calculated densities to a backshifted Bethe formula, and their systematics are studied across the re...
متن کاملMicroscopic calculation of in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross sections.
We derive in-medium nucleon-nucleon (NN) cross sections in a microscopic model. Our calculations are based upon the Bonn NN potential and the Dirac-Brueckner approach for nuclear matter. We consider energies up to 300 MeV (in the laboratory frame) and densities up to twice nuclear matter density. Our results deviate substantially from cross section parametrizations that are commonly used in the...
متن کاملProjected shell model for nuclear structure and weak interaction rates
The knowledge on stellar weak interaction processes is one of the most important ingredients for resolving astrophysical questions. Study of these rates is essentially a nuclear structure problem, in which the actual decay rates are determined by the microscopic inside of nuclear many-body systems. For many astrophysically-interested questions, information on detailed nuclear level structure at...

Nuclear level density is one of the most important concepts in nuclear physics; basically, it is the key in dealing with nuclear statistical problems. This quantity plays an essential role in the statistical calculation of reactor physics, astrophysics, researches in the average energy of heavy- ion collision and calculations related to neutron evaporation and other applications. This quantity ...
